Truthfully?  Because we forgot to not justify it. Some publishers want the text justified; some don’t.  If you don’t, just tell us and we’ll fix it for you in your revision cycle.  On the house, unless we followed a pre-existing alignment in your InDesign files, PDF, or formatted Word file.
