When Simeon Grist takes on what seems to be a simple case--trying to convince an older gay man not to be so "trusting"--things go badly wrong.  Simeon finds himself genuinely liking Max, the "elderly" man that Simeon thinks might be in better shape than he is.  When Max is brutally murdered, suddenly Simeon is on the murderer's list, as well.  Complicating matters is a violent, bigoted cop that mistakenly infers that Simeon is also gay.
